Winter Washing
Looking for a little advice on washing a vehicle in the winter time (im in South Dakota so we can get pretty cold here not to mention salty) Im not a fan of the pay n spray washes since they recycle the water and theres no way to tell what kind or how harsh the soaps detergents are. Obviously id never take a nice vehicle thru a brushed or brushless automatic wash anytime of year. Durring the summer I always wash by hand but in a nice vehicle thats effected by the elements all year round.. whats are you guys doing in the winter with your nice daily driver vehicles?
My best idea is to take a couple buckets to the "pay n spray" use my own wash soap (mcguires gold) use the sprayer to rinse the vehicle clean, then use my microfiber mitt and my soap to wash the vehicle down then rinse again with the pay n spray... And of course im going into my first winter with a black vehicle haha, |

I drive a POS '97 Ford truck that sits outside and gets washed everytime it rains. No problem.

I know my aunt has hot water faucet installed in her garage (great idea) and she can wash her car at home any time of the year.

hose off the salt.
When I lived where they salted the roads in the winter every week I would get a hose out of the garage and just rinse off the grime and spray under the fenders. bumpers anywhere the crud could collect., then have to drain the hose so the water wouldn't freeze up.
