to wipe or not to wipe
I'm hoping to get some time to go back to work soon on the 36 ford coupe, chassis is done, engine and trans ready to drop in. It's time for more planning before the bodywork and wiring, I don't want windshield wipers, the wife thinks we should have them. I have no plans of driving in the rain, california drivers are terrible drivers in rain and I'm not going to take the chances. I also like the clean look with out the wipers, it's going to cost quite a few bucks and time, any opinions one way or the other? The car is already registered and won't have to be inspected. Dan

I like the way you think, monte, but I have a wife to squeegee, or does she hold the monkey so he can get both sides of the windshield?

He said he won't be driving in the rain anyway, so I say leave the wipers off of it. I'm with ya, looks cleaner and you won't need them. |

Ok, when ya'll say inspection. Is that just like an emmissions inspection where they eyeball the car? Cause down here, if its older than 25 years it doesn't get inspected for anything...at all.

So far, no inspections in Ca. Too old for emissions, (not me, the car, I have plenty of emissions). I've been scanning the car mags for wipers, mot seem to have them, I'd guess 60/40 with wipers, pre 42. Thanks for the input.

Here in the valley we dont need wipers because the little rain we get is absorbed by the smog. I dont have them on my Commando, but I also dont have a top, so I dont go out in the rain. Hey dinger, these people cant even drive safely when its not raining!

hey 2many, there's no kidding there. Take roads that haven't seen any rain for months, add water, watch the action. I told my wife I'd like to take about 200 of them to Mn. (my home state) in a light snowstorm, and film the action. You think the keystone cops are funny...It would make most actin car chases in movies look tame.
