wire wheel + cast iron heads

Need to get baked-on intake (EGR port) gaskets off of small block Ford heads, still on the car or I'd take 'em to a shop and have it done in 2 minutes with an angle die grinder but all I have access to here is a drill w/ a coarse wire wheel. Can i used that to get the baked on gasket off of the heads without damaging it?

The wire wheel is brass.

Why not just plug up the ports and get a spray can of CRC gasket remover and a scraper from O'Reilly's of any other parts store, five bucks a can.
