which wires are which?....

i took out a rear o2 sensor from a 93 taurus gl. the spare one that i have has different colored wires. how can i find out which go to which? the old sensor has black, gray, 2 whites. the new one has 1 purple, 1 tan,2 brown.i need to connect the old wires to the new sensor.

The tip is rounded,and the wire length is around 10-12 in.
