Wiring 1984 Chevy Caprice Classic

I just rebuilt the 305 that's in it and I have about 9 wires left where I don't know where they go. I do have the shop manual and it has helped alot. But now I've found the wires in the car and on the diagram for the EST. What the heck is an EST and where is it?

Est

Doc here,

Electronic Spark timing..

Should plug into the distributer (on the engine bay side) in lieu of a vacuum advance...

Depending on your year / model & engine setup, may or may not be used, and may have been added as a factory option.

I think the crossover year (80/81) had the option, and after was the EST, whether used or not...but don't hold me to that..

Anyway, If you have Mechanically adjustable timing, and advance control, and is non TBI, EFI...(carbed) then you don't need this plug.. just tape it back, however if you have one of the above, you do...

We are Talking GM right? Need to know more about the setup to accurately advise you further..(year / make/ model/ orig eng or swap/harness swap/etc)

Doc
