I bought a 6-50R receptacle today to mount on the wall next to my regular dryer receptacle I plan to use for both welder and compressor. My plan is to buy a basic dryer power cord and wire it in to the 6-50R. That way I can use a standard 6-50R/6-50P 25 foot extension for the welder ($50 for 50A rating) and not have to construct a custom extension cord.
