I am trying to figure out wiring for two sets of lights. each set has one with two wires and one with one wire. The wires going to them are the brake, blinker and run lights. I'm not sure how to deal with the one wire lamp, is it the brake or blinker? and how does it attach to ground? I'm a better metal fabricator then electrician and this has me stuck.
a little info would help; what vehicle and old or new wiring.
on typical 2 filament bulbs: the brake lights run thru the turn indicator switch so that one filament is both brake/turn functions
and the other, dimmer filament would be your tail lights
if you rewiring the vehicle add the single wire bulb to your brake/turn to make your brake lites stand out
some old vehicles have separate bulb and function for brake/turn/tail
depends on what you have
The single wire light uses a single filament bulb. Depending on the bulb (wattage) it could be used as a signal light or a tail light.
The (2) wire light has a dual filament bulb that is used for a combination of tail and signal. One of the wires is the tail light (black) (dim filament) and the other wire (red) (bright filament) is the signal.
The body of the light assembly, which is connected to the shell of the bulb, is ground. The shell of the bulb must be grounded to complete the circuit.
