wiring diagram for brake light/indicator?

I am finishing up the wiring at the back end of the car and have 2 filament bulbs at the rear to take care of the night light, brake light and indicators.

I wired the night light to the duller of the two filaments and BOTH the 12v brake light feed and each indicator to the brighter filaments.

Of course my problem now is that when I indicate either left or right both indicators flash simultaneously at the back, front is fine. They are using the 12v feed for the brake light to feed 12v from one indicator to the other.

Does anyone have a simple diragram on how to wire the back lights for the three functions so they dont affect each other?

Thanks,

Brake lamp wiring feeds through the turn signal switch, that is where the turn indicator lamp wiring feeds the stop lamps. Here is a link with some wiring diagrams.

Doc here,

What car is this in..? What column..?

Here is a basic early GM Wiring from the column plug..
  • Light blue=Left dash indicator & Front Left Turn Lamp
  • Dark blue=Right Dash Indicator & Front Right Turn Lamp
  • Yellow=Left Rear Stop/Turn Lamp
  • Dark Green=Right Rear Stop/Turn Lamp
  • White=Stop lamp Switch (& Hazard If used)
  • Purple=Turnsignal Flasher

That for 70 ~ ish on down GM's..I think later will be the same or similar also.
