shop manual

Start out by getting a good shop manual that has all the wiring schematics for that truck.
The best one for detail is ALLDATAdiy.com Leading Source of Factory Automotive Repair Information
That way you see the details of each system and determine if there is a wiring issue.
Post more info on what you are trying to do.

I agree, I have also and IMHO Painless has the best website for information on their products.

The single issue, and very slight at that, I have with Painless is....... they will not give you a complete wiring dia for any reason peroid! Thier instructions are very easy to follow and went in very easy....... but I like a complete dia, I ended up drawing one up for my car..... so all is well. If you want one draw one up before you install it in the car, I didn't and it was a real pain in the arse after the fact....
