I've got a #10 or #8 positive wire coming from somewhere near my transmission (I have to check it tomorrow to see exactly what it is) ... but whoever wired this (before I got the truck) had it going directly to the positive post on the battery, and very poorly done at that!
My question is, where's the best place to run this wire? I'm putting a new Red Top Optima battery in and will run new positive and negative cables, cleaning up the whole deal on my truck ... I'm thinking I should run this positive wire to the positive connection on my starter ... yes? No? Where else? Thanks. I'd sure want to know what it connects to before saying,... but yeah, that'd be a less visible hot source...

Thanks, Esmeraldo ... I'll post more details later today.

Almost sounds like feed wires going into the cab for an Amp power supply? Have a Stereo? I don't think it's the main power suppy to the electrical because everyone usually runs those off the main lug on the starter where the battery cable connects.

You nailed it, Chevy1!
I checked it out today and it was a dead end that went up through the floor and under the seat! Jeeze! You'd think they would've removed the wire! At any rate, it must've been just like you said - an amp wire. It's gone now. <img src="graemlins/crash.gif" border="0" alt="[crash]" /> Alan |
