Wiring Stuart Warner Amp Meter Gauge

How do I wire this gauge? I tried to wire this gauge myself by going from the hot side of the ignition switch to one side of the gauge and the run side of the ignition to the other side of the gauge. I also ran a wire to the field side of the alternator. Nothing happens. What am I doing wrong? I have a 67 Mustang 2+2 Fastback.

Your amp meter is pretty easy to wire in if you just splice it into the heavy wire that goes from your alternator or get the one that runs to you ignition again but it must be connected to the same wire on both sides. Hope this helps you a bit.....

Thanks, Coleman! I'm Jerry's wife (and the typist of the operation). I gave him your response. He and his buddy are working on the car right now...maybe they can get this thing to work!
