Wiring Tach - 88 Sierra

Hey, I just got a Faze big & bulky tachometer which is identical to this one. I have a 88 GMC Sierra that originally had the 350 TBI but now has a 454. The tach has 4 wires: red, green, black, and a black double wire with grey stripe/dashes. Can anyone tell me how to wire this and if I can test it easily? Thanks
