Wiring Turn Signals On 57 Chevy

I've Got A 57 Chevy 3/4 Ton Truck And I'm Having A Frustrating Time Getting The Rear Turn Signals To Work. How Should I Tie In The Turn Signals From An External Turn Switch With Integrated 4-way Switch Running Off Of A Single "blinker Can" To My Stop/tail/turn 2-wire Rear Lights. I'm Also Using The Stock Type Brake Light Switch And Mostly Original Wiring Harness. If There's A Wiring Diagram Out There Somewhere That Covers This Please Let Me Know. I've Been Trying To Figure It Out By Myself For Two Weeks Now. Please Help!.!.

a good place to start is to read a painless wiring manual.
while it may not be specific to your truck, it's universal in wiring.
read thru the whole manual as there are a couple of sections for stop/turn wiring

there is a 12v brake feed and a 12v blinker feed to the blinker switch
and 4 wires out to each corner of your truck

the painless manual has diagrams for both styles of blinkers on our trucks
some 3/4t originally had separate turn signals mounted on the fenders and brake & tail lights integrated in the bed
if thats the case you will need a new blinker switch to run the brake lights thru the blinker switch

if you have a newer switch or stock one with integrated blinker/stop lights then you need to hook it up per painless.
amazingly gm never change the wire colors, the painless instruction will work for you

Thanks Ogre For The Info. It Confirmed What I Was Hoping To Avoid. Now All I Have To Do Is Get A Couple More Turn Signals And I'll Be Good To Go.
