Witch head gasket to use.
I've got a 355sbc with a set of World Product S/R torquer head's that have the 76cc chamber's, a set of Sterling Speed Pro hyper, piston's with a .125 dome on them, that are .020 in the hole and with a .041 head gasket, it's supost to make around 9.3 c/r. Now this will give me about .060 quench. Now would anyone know about how thin of a gasket i can use to make the quench better without push'in the engine much over 9.5 c/r because with iron head's i want to keep it pump friendly.

re: Witch head gasket to use.
I went with NAPA's beaded steel head gaskets. They're about $12 a piece and compress to .015 I think. They must be retorqued though.

re: Witch head gasket to use.
What would be an ideal quench for a 355sbc on pump gas, i've allway's thought .040 was kind'a tight, althow be'in .020 in the hole and a .015 gasket would make it a .035 quench. (Please help me out here)

re: Witch head gasket to use.
I have used GM .28 Composite Gaskets on the last 2 builds.
Great sealing gaskets and still a composite instead of a shim. |

re: Witch head gasket to use.
When using steel shim gaskets make sure the block and heads are STRAIGHT. I have had a few problems with sealing steel shim gaskets on engines with head and deck surfaces that weren't resurfaced. BTW, steel shim head gaskets don't need re-torquing. Any where from .040"-.045" piston-to-head should be fine.
