wondering weight

how much does a 92 chevy shortwide pickup with a 350, muncie 4 speed and aluminum wheels weigh

I give up how much does it weigh? It would be hard to guess anywere close. You should be able to get it weighed at a feed store or a truck stop. Scrap yards and quarrys also have big scales to weigh a truck.

My 86 ford shortbox 4x4 with a six cylinder weighs in at 4000 lbs.

Yours being a v-8 4x2 would probably be a little less,I'm guessing 3400-3700 lbs.

Is it a 1500 or 2500? 4x4 or 4x2? Look on the door jamb, there should be a sticker that lists the GVW of the truck. Once you have that you can look up your truck on a place like vehix.com and find the payload capacity. Subtract the max payload from the GVW and you'll have your answer. Remember that passengers and fuel are part of the payload so you would have to subtract those weights to figure out just how much you can carry in the bed.
