wont run now

i just got a 87 chev 3/4 truck with rebuilt 350 in it the buy who i baight it off of didnt tell me he used synethic oil in it until today when i added normal oil and now my motor wont stay running even after i changed the oil what should i do ?

Check something besides the oil, cus that didn't do it.......................maybe, spark, gas etc....

yea see thats just the thing i was told by someone just a bit ago not to mix synthetic oil with normal oil AFTER i did it . it ran fine until i put it in then it woulndt even rev up too high and just die.

Changing your oil, and even mixing synthetic with regular oil will not cause your engine to stop running. As long as you have oil, it doesn't matter what kind. Poncho is right, there is another problem that you need to look for. Run through the steps you followed when you did the oil change....did you do anything else? Did you have to unhook anything to reach into the engine for the oil filter? Did you forget to hook something back up? Did you change anything besides the oil? Maybe you accidentally loosened a plug wire or other wire.

There's lots of reasons why it may not run. Do a compression check.
