My shifting problem is the kick down cable, any one have any suggestions how to adjust it properly? I have moved it all the way up, all the way down and everywhere inbetween it still won't shift at full throttle with the kickdown cable on. It also slips when it does kick down, could this be because I over filled it, it took almost 9 quarts bone dry with a new converter and nothing in the cooler?
What transmission do you have my friend? Has it been worked on? 9 quarts is a lot but if it was just rebuilt and you put in a new torque converter then you might need a few more quarts.
The trans is a turbo 350. It was brand new from Summit along with the converter and I;m sure the cooler was empty it had been sitting with no motor or trans for 3 years or so?
Buy or download a genuine GM trans manual, they have apply charts, oil flow charts, trouble shooting diags and all the specs/adustments required.
They are written in laymans terms and are probably the best 'learn as you go' manuals available in the world.
Good luck, Ian.

the trans is not completely full, r u checking the fluid when the engine is hot running, and in park??? 10 1/2 from dry up to 12 qts depending on if it has a deep pan, and/or an auxillary cooler.
