Has anyone got any info about the blackout regarding canceling or postponing the Cruise? My Father -in-law said there has been crusin going on there for a week now but it was canceled when the blackout hit. He lives near there and is a car nut also,but I've lost contact with him. Any news about the Cruise???

I managed to have a intermittent conversation with a friend in the Detroit area, the latest info he has is that the cruisers are still able to cruise Woodward but the power is not on in many areas. That means gas is hard to find and restaurants are hard to find as well. The official Cruise activities are postponed until Saturday. Things are really messed up there. The cops are going to shut down the crusing at 8 pm tonight according to local radio stations there.
I just got a call from my father-in-law confirming the 8pm shutdown time being broadcast on Detroit Channel 2 TV
They are having a major storm there now and there is concern about flooding at freeway underpasses because of no power to run the pumps.
I'm from Detroit and I'll bet the hardcore hotrodders are still going to have a good time in spite of all this.

yep, it's on for sat. and it's not supposed to be 8pm tonight, but rather 8pm sat. but that's just what i heard.
i was down on woodward wednesday night, freakin' fun
too bad i was just in my daily driver, though no races, still torched it from an intersection or two.

Howdy fellow cruisers...
I was in Detroit from Tuesday until Sunday morning.
I fought through it all....A group of us were coming back from the Henry Ford Museum when the power went down.
The rest of the time we struggled with food...water....keeping cool...and the traffic....But WE LOVED IT ALL.....

oh yeah...my buddy got rear ended in his 9 second 63 Galaxie...rats.......
