The word is solenoids

I know a well known car show guy says selinoids, or whatever but the correct spelling is solenoid.

Heck, some people spell it CAMERO when the correct spelling is right on the side of the car!

Solenoids

I agree 302 I've worked with electrical controls 14 years and everyone calls them silenoids not solenoids.

No it a galley. It has been misused so much that it is not uncommon for it to be called a gallery or gallerie.

Your floor shifter; it's in the console, not the council.

And why did they ever start calling a starter relay a starter solenoid? Sure every relay has a solenoid in it, but when a solenoid is used only to operate an electrical switch, that makes the device a F***IN' RELAY.

Ohhh, OHHHHHHHH!

Well, General Motors disagrees. I have several Chevy and Oldsmobile factory Chassis Service Manuals in front of me, and all refer to "oil gallery plugs" and "oil galleries".

Webster's Dictionary also disagrees with you:

Gallery (definition #3): a long and narrow passage.

Galley, on the other hand, is defined as a type of ship or boat, a kitchen, or a tray for holding type for printing. Those are the only definitions.

My pet mangled pronunciation is "Carter Key" instead of Cotter pin.

Also how many times have you heard "un-loosen" a bolt?
