Hi all ..

Well I finally got a little accomplished with my 47 Caddy Ambulance. The retaining wall between the drivers compartment and the rear had been removed. The beginning of an arch assembly has taken its place. I am sending along a few pics. I know that there is probably a better way to do this .... but it was the best I could think of at the time

My Plans for the Caddy? Well that seems to vary a little from time to time. The basic idea is to create a car that will serve as our "vacation-mobile". Something with a luxurous ride ... with plenty of head and leg room. Not to mention a killer trunk area as my wife can shop like "nobody's business" I swear that woman was born to shop. Anyway that is the basic plan. The engine will be a viper v-10 ... unless someone can give me a better idea. and yes air conditioning and power steering is also a must. And for me ... well I am a gadget freak ... so I am sure I will come up with something. Over all it is a giant toy with a real life application.

that sounds pretty cool. if the better half is a big shopper maybe you should have a remote door opener for the back.

V10 sounds cool, i guess there really isn't an exotic caddy combo you could put in there?

automatic doors? Now that is a great idea. I think I will take that one. Infact ... how about electric door openers for all the doors and get rid of all the door handles. I like it!!!!

well you could run the 6.0l out of the escalade and have all the caddy badging all over the block.....and it's cheaper to hop up than the v-10......and that way you keep the caddy heritage.....I just hate swapping fords/mopars into gm cars....

NEAT Project!! But, the viper engine would killl my budget!! How about a 472 build-up? 375 h.p. bone stock, should make 475h.p. with some hipo parts!! Heck, go with a centrifical supercharger, it should break 500h.p.!! You'd be saving a ton of money, not to mention wiring and computer nightmares! Find a donor car and get all the required brackets for the air cond. too! Besides, V10's sound odd, a guy I know has a Dodge V10 pickup with large diameter duals (flowmaster cat-back?). It sounds like two 6 cylinders fighting for space under the hood!

You guys are a wealth of knowledge and I find your recommendations make a lot of sense. I am definately going to scratch the v-10 idea. You guys are right ... nothing sounds better than a cammy deep throated V-8. Gawd, I am showing my age!!
