Here's something I was thinking about. If the inside of a 6-71 case/rotors has grooves and such, I understand that the efficiency will be down..depending on the degree of "damage". Will raising the drive percentage help to overcome this? As an example, if it's suppose to be putting out 10lbs of boost, but only putting out 7lbs (due to wear), will over driving it a bit more bring it up? I'm not talking about a case/rotors that are shot...or have I got it all wrong?...

Well it's like playing football. If you watched the Vikings play last Sun, Brett gets battered pretty hard (blower is damaged ), finally takes a fall and has to go get some band-aids. (blower gets more OD). He comes back in plays for a while, but definitely down on power, then ka-boom the roof falls in. (blower and motor die together).
