worn out chrome grill

I have a 1940 chevy with a worn out chrome grill, what would look the best and reasonable cost

Rechroming it would look good, but cost.......Painting it would be cheaper, would that look good? Who knows?

I thought those grilles were stamped stainless. Many years ago I had a 40 Chevy and I replaced the grille with a reproduction grille made in Argentina. It was stainless. If stainless, just polish it. Stu
