Worthless w/o pics---gonna tell ya anyway
On my way home from Las Vegas NV, Friday afternoon, I saw something I could hardly believe.
I would have taken a pic, but alas, I was on the freeway @ 75 dragging a U-Haul with my 'mini f-350' (Ranger) And old <<< emphasis here, Austin Mini Cooper, pulling a trailer. not any old trailer---one that was made just for this car. This little Mini had the roof removed from the door back, to make a teeny tiny pick-up, (maybe 2 ft). The trailer was a gooseneck and was being used to tote one of those big ATV 4-wheelers around. The gooseneck actually went inside the teeny bed. "Cute" little car (Bright Blue with what appeared to be a set of polished mag wheels) with the 8" wheels and tires. Saw this car in Lordsburg, NM., and I suppose he was headed for some rocks to climb with the 4-wheeler. He was actually on the onramp to the freeway and he appeared to be accelerating at a pretty good clip, so I am pretty sure there is some serious engine compartment modifications. I would think it a pretty good choice for a tow vehicle If the tow vehicle breaks down---the 4-wheeler could still tow everything home If anyone knows who owns this thing----post some pics. I thought it was cool and different. Bryan |

Thats cool, bad rat..yesterday my wife and I saw the Oscar Meyer weiner mobile.. I swear we did. It was probably going to the Garlic festival..
I remember there was a guy with a model A sedan that had a goosneck ball mounted on his roof and he towed a little baby travel trailer around with it.. I remember seeing that at pleasanton GG show a few times. There was a link around here somewhere that showed really old travel trailers, some were made up as ypu describe, with the hitch in the "trunk/bed" of a passenger car. I suppose a little car could handle a fair amount of tongue weight if the hitch was over the axle. I tried to do a google image search for any or all of that but came up empty handed..... Mikey

I saw that here in town quite a few years ago. No clue where it was going though. They actually drive it on the street.....

Hey Malc, are those pics from your vacation?
![]() I'll say one thing about that farmer with the farm implement is that he knows how to load a trailer...That little blazer is hardly squatting. Hate to see it if it starts to wagging though. Later, mikey

That pic of the farmer looks like the before part of a bad ending story. I sure hope he made it.

There's probably 3,500 to 4,800 Lbs. on behind that thing, looks like a bunch more, but I'm betting not. Those older cotton pickers are pretty light from the drive wheels on back. If that Blazer has a 4.3, I could see doing that for a short drive (5 miles or less on a smooth country highway). Heck, in the first picture in my project journal, I've got roughly 6,500 to 7,000 on behind my old 4.3 C1500.
And before you ask, no, I wasn't legal, and yes, it was 0 to 45 in 60 minutes.... In a while, Chet. |
