Would a 315/60/15 Street radial work with my setup?

Hey guys, I may not have this in the right place, but maybe someone can help me.

I have a 1983 chevy truck pushing close to 400hp. with a th350 trans, 4.10 gears and 15X8 wheels. The truck spins like crazy. I wanted to get 15X10 wheels for the back but I found some 315/60/15 mickey thompson street radials for a pretty good price. Would these tires be wide enough and sticky enough to help my truck hook up decent enough to have them on my 8in wheels? or would I be better off just waiting and getting the 15X10's? and would they be to tall for my gears?

Thanks,
Larry

315/60r15's are too wide for an 8" rim. about the max you can do on an 8" is a 295/50R15, and that is pushing it. Get the 10", and put the 315's on them.

Alright but do you think they would be a good tire for my setup or would I be better off with another size?
