Lets see some pics of it! Later, WEIMER |

Thanks, Weimer! I wish we had more room. (I'd probably still not have enough room if I had an entire city block to myself!)
The side of the house we're building it on was only big enough for a 24' x 28' garage. Still better than nothing. A while back I was asking people about lifts. I was tossing around the idea of a 4 post lift, but have decided on a 2 post. Here's the one I think I am going to get. 2 Post lift Ever heard anything bad about them? I'll post some pictures as soon as I can. I took some after the "big dig" but I was too lazy to burn them to a CD (more like I didn't wanna waste a whole CD on 6 pictures.) I'll be going back at the end of the month. I'll grab 'em then. They should be done layin' the block by then! (God willing!) Rock on... Seņor |

Hey Senor...congrats on the new garage or dog house depending on the day and the company. Can't wait to see some pics. Shop around for the hoist. I've seen 2 post for around $1800. Make sure you have room for the fridge and TV and locks on the doors. That way you can barricade yourself in and be set for awhile. Enjoy.

Don't forget when before the concrete gets poured for the floor that where the posts on the lift bolt to the floor needs to be extra thick to accomodate the extra weight.
Not sure the exact thickness but you may want to ask the concrete guys if they have done an garages with lifts before(like service centers or repair shops) Later, WEIMER |

Update
Hey guys, well I have uploaded some pictures of the progress so far on the garage. Coming along slow but sure. In some pictures it looks smaller than it is. It is 24' x 28'. I wish we could have gone bigger, but as you can see, there wasn't any more room to spare.
Oh well. It is large enough for 2 cars and some room to work in. I am happy with that. God willing, it will be done next month. I wish this rain would quit for a while!!!!I will upload more as the progress continues. Rock on and God bless... Seņor |

i see what ya mean not having any more room. looks real tight the way it is. are you going to have a mezzanine in the garage or is it just going to be single story? kinda gives you a warm and fuzzy feeling when things get started doesn't it? if this rain don't get the best of you these mosquitoes will.

Howdy Kev! Good to se ya back postin!
I was hoping to have some storage room . It is going to have a high ceiling since we're putting in the lift. Not sure what is gonna happen yet. I guess we have to wait and see once the block is finished. The guy was talking something about a scisor truss? He just wants to make sure we have enough room to clear for the car on the lift. He was mentioning 2 other options as well. I think the one thing that is causing the "problem" is the window on the side of the house. I wouldn't mind just having storage on the side of the garage without the lift. Heck, at this point, I will be happy to have it done! ![]() Yep, I get all anxious and sometimes get lost in the thoughts of what will go where and stuff like that. I just can't wait to get my skylark out of storage. (They raised the dang rent on it AGAIN!) Been paying on a storage garage for it since 1994. I know... I know... for as much as I have spent on that, I could have built a garage a long time ago. Just didn't have the money back then. Plus I got more stuff in there, than just the car. ANYWAY... I will keep you guys up to date with what is going on with the garage. Rock on and God bless... Seņor |

scissor truss is what they use for cathredal ceilings like an inverted "V". the outside of the truss sits on your top plate then will be about 3' higher in the middle but will retain the same roof pitch that you have outside right now. How's the lincoln coming along. you been able to do anything to that lately?

Nope, no new progress on the Lincoln lately.
It's just sitting in the garage, waiting for it's "new" home. I did find ANOTHER one last week! This one is only a rolling chasis. I only got it for the the engine and transmision. Probably keep the rear end too. I'll scrap the frame. Don't need it. I wish I could find some performance parts for the 337. I have done a lot of checkin around and also on a few Ford boards too. No one is in to the 337's. Seems that the only people using them are either restoring the Trucks or Lincolns. No one is trying to get any more power out of them. ![]() They laid more block today. I think they're 14 block high. I think the beam is supposed to show up tomorrow for above the garage door. Coming together... slowly. Rock on and God bless... Seņor |

The latest...
Nope.. I wish it were done! I uploaded the latest pictures to the new photo album. Not much different aside from a couple more rows af block, a window and a door. The window looks small from a distance, but I assure you it is not. hehehe Me and my dad had to tell my mom a million times that it is not a "little window", it just looks that way from far away.
And now.... more rain! Can you say MUD PIT boys and girls? Sure you can! ![]() I was expecting to see a few hippies sliding around in the mud and country joe and the fish performing on the scaffold in the back of the garage! Just as a precaution, I warned the neighbors to stay away from the brown acid! Rock on and God bless... Seņor |
