Wretched Ratchet eye surgery

Just got this from Emmetts wife....Send him some best wishes

"Hi Guys!!!

Just a note to let you know I just brought Emmett home from emergency surgery at St. Josephs
Hospital in downtown Houston.

We went to the dr., thinking the irritation, "floaters" and coating in his eyes was just minor and could probably be corrected with some drops or something simple. Wellllll, to our surprise his eye dr. sent us to a specialist in the Woodlands, who then rushed us to Houston for emergency surgery for a detached retina. We were shocked and not prepared for that to say the least. Fortunately, Meller's oldest son, David, who is an absolute angel, worked not far away and came to the drs. office to drive us into Houston.

The surgery took several hours and was completely successful. I don't think we could have looked all over Houston and found a better team than we had. Everyone from the surgeon, anethesologist (sp?), nurses, etc. were funny, upbeat and highly professional. NOW, the problem begins....lol. Keeping this big lug still is gonna take a miracle. He has to keep his head down and other than sitting on him, I've yet to come up with a solution. If he's too stubborn, and sleep on the couch next to it. We have to be at the drs. office in the morning at 8:30am, and David took our car home to pick us up in the morning and drive us in.

Thank the Lord for all the great help and DAVID!!! I'll let you know as things progress.

Hugs,

Sherry Belle"

It goes to show you never can tell. I'm glad the surgery was a success. Please pass on my regards & tell him I'm sorry if it was my jokes that caused it!

You're in our prayers, wr.

I understand that happens if you bang your head on the wall too much.

Hang in there, pal.

Well, gang, I'm back - - - at least what's able to function right now - - - - man, what a whirll wind day yesterday was.

10:50am leave home heading for Huntsville - - - 45 miles

1130 am stop and Schlotzkeys for a sammich

12:00 noon decided to kill some time and drive around

12:15pm stopped at Dairy Queen for a couple of blizzards

1:00pm at Eye Doctors Clinic

1:30pm headed to Woodlands to see Retna Doctor - - 55 miles back South

4:00pm see Retna Doc and call David to help drive

5:00pm David arrives at the parking lot, leaves his PU and drive us and our car to downtown Houston 45 miles further South

5:45pm arrive at St. Joseph Hosp and leave for valet parking

6:00pm finally get registred and in room

6:30pm I'm hooked up to an I.V. and meeting the Anethesiast and Doctors

7:00pm in Operating room

9:00pm in Recovery Room

9:30pm headed home to Lake Conroe - - about 55 miles

In bed by midnight

8:00am back at Doctor's office for post-op

HE said everythig looks real goo and to keep my head down

Now it's drop 4 times a day and wait as see'

The vision in the eye they fixed is like looking thru a water kalidescope and he said it should clear up in several days and be fine.

Fellers, this one snuck up on me and had me pretty nervous yesterday.

Please excuse the mispelled words - - I barely can see to type - - - couldn't even get a pic to load on Photobucke so it's time for me to quit and lay down.

Get plenty of rest & steer clear of porn sites on the web & the eye will be fine.

OK, I know when I'm not wanted hahahahahaha and I know that I don't need to be on here posting so I'll leave y'all with this.

funny how this thing came on - - - - started out as some very very very hardly noticeable floaties and the after about a week - - - I got a tiny blurred spot in the outside corner that felt almost like matter or something - - - - then it got larder and then about 4 days ago one appear in the other corner along with the one that was alraedy there - - - - - then they kept getting bigger each daymost all my vision was like looking thru water out of that eye. Never was any pain or anything like that but it's sore as hell now.
