xe274 cam

I was thinking of installing a xe274 cam in my .040 over 350, i have 9.25 compression vortec heads, performer rpm intake, 750 holley, headers and 2.5 exhaust and a muncie 4spd would this cam be streetable or should i go to a smaller cam

Yes the cam would work good for your application.
You may want to look at a Comp. 280H I think would be a little better.

This head can be seen as a sleeper when compared to other GM production heads. It outflows the LT-1 aluminum Corvette head on the intake side, plus its mid lift numbers are very impressive. This head is perfect when iron heads are required. GM designed this head and put it on trucks as well as on the later Impala SS but with a different intake bolt pattern.

I love my xe274. It sounds like a Harley and I get great comments where ever I go all the time. Downside... my vacuum sucks. You MUST change your stall converter to at least 2400. I did 2400.

Now my 274 is in a Trans Am. If I would do a truck up I might go to a 262....Unless you like it to rump..rump! The 262 is high street , in my opinion. The 268 is stock converter max.
