for yall that answered the horsepower question
whoever said that the emblems on the side were wrong you were right i've thought this car was a 302 for like a year and even my uncle thought it was and he is a mechanic ....i was looking at the numbers on the engine and it says................... 289 c60e-8425-A ................w/e that means and here are some more 6b1c ...i found all of theses on the intake manifold

Is it possible the intake was changed?
look for more #s on the water pump and dist. Henry

C6OE-8425 =
C6 = 1966 O = fairlane/torino E = engine part 8425 = intake manifold the last part I think is the casting date and changes
