Yet another 700R4 question.

Hey hey guys I've got a LOVELY 700R4(notice sarcasm) well I'm really to lazy to do all the work that comes along with changing out a Turbo350 for it so I'd really just like to get a shift kit and maybe do some others to it. Any suggestions? or screw the 700R4 and go with the Turbo 350? The only reason is that I got the Turbo 350 free in working condition so I'm kinda at a loss whether it's worth changing all that speedometer programming and whatnot if I could do some work with the R4 and get the same response.

700 R4

Hello-

The only upgrade i ever did to a 700r4 that really worked was installing a manual shift valve body from tci. It even get's rid of the detent cable (weak link if adjusted even a little wrong) But if you don't like the idea of manual shift it won't be the option you'll want to go with.

nah manual shift doesn't really bother me to much but if I do that I mind as well go through the trouble of getting something like a T-5 but that is quite a bit of work.

But you would still be a automatic with the 700r4 in the since you would not have a clutch to push when you shift plus you can install the valve body with out removing tranny. with the tci valve body you will have a huge improvement in tranny live.
