You guys are real pros

This site is totally awesome and is a great wealth of information. This may seem a bit trivial to most of you my next question but here goes:- Does hardner for 2 pac have a shelf life when opened?

You see I used some clear a while back and it worked wonderful but I didnt use a whole lot of it. After about 6-8 weeks when I was to use another mix it formed a milky sort of look when the hardner was added to the clear! (No I didnt use this batch on the work but got new hardner).

Im assuming that moisture got to the hardener or went OFF! I came to this conclusion that after buying new hardner it worked fine without this milky clear so then the 2 pac body clear was OK!

Can anyone explain if they have had this happen? Ive also had some older stuff hardener that actually formed "flakes" in the 2 pac for what reason I dont know!

Has anyone experienced anything like this themselves???

Thanks peoples!

You are very right, the isos in the hardener are very moisture sensitive. There are products out here that you can put an innert gas into the can when you put the lid on and it will save the product from failure. I have even heard of guys using their mig welders argon for this.

But if you clean the threads on the can and cap and tighten it well it will last a number of months or even years without "milking" up. This depends a lot on how much is gone from the can (how much air and moisture got IN in other words).
