Post You guys should check out the June issue of Sport Compact Car.

The cover story is pretty funny. They test the performance of the cars from "2 Fast 2 Furious" and they all pretty much suck. Most of them are actually SLOWER than they were stock. Keep in mind these are the actual cars used in the movie. The best part is the fastest car they tested was the '68 Camaro

It doesn't really prove anything since these cars were by no means built for speed or performance...they were built to look good on camera. But it's kinda hilarious that they all suck. Actually, the best of the import cars tested was the pink, supercharged S2000. It was slightly faster than a stock S2000, but a lot slower than other blown S2K's they've tested.

Anyway...just thought you'd get a kick out of it.

There's also a great comparison test of the new WRX STi vs. the Lancer EVO 8. The STi put down 255hp to the wheels on the dyno! (That's all 4 wheels, by the way)

Peace,
MK2TMR2

I think I'll take the $20 it would cost me to go see that steaming pile of a movie and head to the casino instead!

Hollywood must really be stupid. How can anyone take a car and modify it and have it be slower than stock? Oh yeah, because they added about 10,000lbs. with all the typical ricer mods! :p

As long as you are talkin' about ricer mags...I picked one up at the store the other night to look at and there is a very good article in there on painting. 75 steps or something like that. For someone that is interested in learning it might pay to pick it up. Don't ask wha mag it was though as they are all the same to me but in bold print in front is stated about painting. Can't miss it.

Yeah...actually there are a couple sport compact/import mags that are actually pretty good. They focus on a lot of do-it-yourself/shadetree types of things with step-by-step instructions with photos. One issue of SCC has an entire writeup on how to drop a V6 into a 2nd gen MR2. You could almost do the whole swap with just the magazine as your guide....it even had dealership part numbers for things you'd need.

But for the 1 or 2 actually useful sport compact magazines, there are about 987123981 retarded ones filled with nothing but cheap body kits and ugly all show-no go cars.

As for the movie...of course I'll go see it. But I'll take it with a HUGE grain of salt...just like the first one.

I can't bring myself to actually pay to see that movie. Maybe I just never picked up the right import rag cuz all I ever see is rice.
