Young Blood, with pics

Hello all. My name is Seth, and I'm 17. I've been welding and doing light fabr since I was 13. When I was 15 I started delving into more complicated things. I started building mini bikes, or "mini choppers."

I do all the work, build everything, even the gas tanks. Even have done a few for other people. I did one for a street bike that I am pretty proud of.

I just cut the stock tank off the pan, and went from there.

I am now in the middle of a frame up restoration of an 1980 Toyota pickup, with some modifications. An odd project, but I need something reliable for a daily, and want something "new" on a budget. Its channeled, and has adjustable suspension. I have pictures if anyones interested.

I also have a 1954 Ford, that I plan on doing a frame up build on once I am driving my Toyota. And by frame up build, I mean just that. I am selling the stock frame, and building from the ground up what I want. Would also like to find a late 20s, early 30s tudor body to build up as well.

Seth

Oh, also I build or buy all my own tools. I don't use my dads, as I've been accused to that before. The only person in my family who has turned a wrench is my mothers step brother. I'll share a build up of my english wheel if theres a place for it.

Welcome to the site Twisted Minis. Those are great little choppers you are building. You have the proportions so good that they are hard to tell from full size bikes until you are in the pic. You should be very proud of your work! Post pics of your Toyota and start a project journal so we can follows along with it's build and then your 54 custom.

There is a thread about homemade tools where you can post pics of your Englishes wheel:

http://www.hotrodders.com/forum/hom...=homemade+tools

Good luck with all your projects.

Thanks for the warm welcome Home Brew. I posted my english wheel in the home built tools section, and also put up a write up. I will find the project section and start a thread there. Thanks. I think I'm going to like this site.

Tell ya what, I went though you project journal and I'm shocked. If your really 17 and doing all that work yourself, you have some serious talent. It's nice to know there are young people out there doing quiality work the old fashioned way-with thier own two hands. Keep up the good work and keep that journal updated, can't wait to see the truck complete. My son has an S-10 I'll be helping him on and I've gotten more information from your journal that any other website I've looked at with mini trucks on it.

I really REALLY like the Chain fork springer did you put that together all by your self ? Damn ! can you post a few more pixs of that ?

Where do you put the ball peen hammer when riding? no one should leave home without a ball peen

I love the Mono wheel although I would be concerned about bouncing up& landing on that tire
Instant castration OUCH!!

I see you are ready to go bar hopping with the motorized bar stool
Does it have a oven for baking brownies???

Look out Jessie James your days are numbered!!!

re: Young Blood, with pics

Thank you guys. I do in fact do all my work. I am 17, I'll be 18 this August. That journal took a good while to build. Lol.

That front end I did make. I made a jig on some 1" square tube that stretched out the chain. I brought it to my friend, who welds my tanks up, to have it TIG welded together. It turned out great I think, and its damn strong.

The seat brace is also welded chain. Just MIG welded, but its strong enough. I had him TIG weld the fender brackets too.

The exhaust also runs through the frame. Dual tips, with a 7/8" piece of tube welded in before the slash cuts as a baffle. It sounds good.

I hope I can be of some help to the people on this forum.

And Arrowhead, post some pics once you get started on your sons S10. Those are like the 32 Ford of the minitruck world. Everyone makes parts.

And forme being 8 foot tall, I'm only 6'3" or somewhere close. Heres another size comparison.

Shes no more than 5'3".

Nice work.

It's nice to see young guys doing something constructive instead of destructive.

New blood keeps the hobby alive.

Say the blonde you posted a picture of. Any chance she's over 18 and not married?
