Post Young hot rodders....where do you hang out??

I was just wondering, where do you young hot rodders hang out?? I know that a lot of the older guys have those cruise nights and parades, but what about the under 30 crowd. In your town, do the younger rodders hang out at all??

Here in the city they would drive from suburb to suburb and do a U-turn, but recently the did the no U-turn sign thing and there are always about 20-30 cops out the on fri and sat nights. So now people just go to peoples house and smoke crack J/K. Steve

Me personally, I'm out tearing up all those rice-rockets in Toronto. Mainly for hanging out, I go to the track or jump around to all the car shows. I was very dissappointed this year at Speedorama at the Automotive Building at the Ex. 95% of the cars were imports. What's the world coming too. I'm looking forwad to Cayuga Speedway. It's a very impressive show.

To be honest hang out's aren't what they used to be, so I'm told by my parent's. I pull up in my Chevelle to hang with my friends and I stick out like a sour thumb. I love it. Plus when ever we gather the cops are alway's near. I was pulled over in my car 9 times in one month for nothing. One time the pig didn't even care about my papes, he just wanted to check out my wheels.

Just drive around when I actually have a car to drive... There are always the races but that leads to trouble...

When I had my last car, I used to hang out at cruze-ins. You old times know some sweet tricks from all of your years of experience. I love going to swap meets for an all day excurtion. But there isn't anything to do in the winter time. That's why I think there are so many street races nowadays, there isn't anything for us to do. We've been all but kicked out of anywhere we go.

Im about to go check out some car show at a Bobs Big Boy. I guess every friday night 6pm-10pm people bring their cars out and chill. I just heard about it, but I have a feeling its just gonna be mainly older people.

in my town everybody seems to hang out in the parking lot of the local hardee's. nowadays tho they have a cop that hang out on friday and saturday nights just to make sure no one is spending too much time there. the cruising culture is a dying one imo.

Here in the Houston the cruise-in still survives especially when the cruisers are well-behaved, clean (don't litter the parking lot), and spend money at the drive-in who is providing you the place to play!
On Saturday nights the Dixie Classic Drive-in at I45 South and FM1959 is a great fun place to be. The cruisers all eat there so the talk is cars inside and out.
If you're using the parking lot of a store or shopping center, don't make a mess and do fire-burnouts and you should have fun for a long time. One of the best hang-out places in town for a good mix of ages(cars and folks)went south because the younger group couldn't manage to keep their trash under control and their brains engaged when romping through the pedestrian crowd. The older guys with the traditional cars have gone away.

Most of the time I hang out at home with the wife or out in the shop with the projects.

For any of you in the Lima, Ohio area on friday nights in the summer there's a restaurant called, "Happy Daz," all the hotrodders like to hang out at. Don't remember the street name but it's near St. Rita's Hospital. (there are 3 or 4 Happy Daz's in Lima) They have an old car theme to the restaurant. I think the owner himself is a hotrodder with the Lima Road Rebels club. I got through there once last year on a friday night last summer nothing but rods and muscle cars everywhere. Too busy drooling over the cars to eat.

out here in sac-town (sacramento, ca) we go cruising on fri and sat nights. Sometimes we hang out at the dragstrip and talk to cool people.

Here in Lubbock, the cruising scene is dying becuase the people that have the cars dont care. They don't spend money at the sonic that sponsors the cruise night, the just take up parking places and then go eat somewhere else...

well much like canadian eh's comments itoo was dissapointed at speedorama in T.O....too many imports...and the streets reflect that as well..

it used to be hang out at the donut shop/carwash and ifthe cops bugged us we'd kind of defect to another donut shop in a different part ofthe city...and although certain guys wouldn't necessarily like each other we'd all get along and cruise together showingoff our cars and holding up traffic.
now i barely goanymore because all the peoplewant to do is sit and drink coffee...thecoffee used to be inbetween cruises...now you canbarely convince anyone togo for a cruise...and if you do it seems like a race to who can get back to the donut shop the quickest...
no the hangout aren't what they used tobe and need not go to our parent generation to see this..
and there are way too many stupid hondas seriously trying torace 10,11,12 second cars at every turn...

my car's in storageand i do miss it but when igo to graba coffee and see what i'm missing, i don't feel too bad.

Steve

Do I know you.....?

Bout what we do here. Lots of country roads though. We do our own drag racing, or close curvy roads to see who can get from point a to point b the fastest. Luckly we do have a big rodder presence here, so there are a lot of car shows and such. But the best of all it..........IMPORTS AND SHUNNED!!!!!! They are not welcome and the people there let them know it!!!!
