well mine is drag racing all the way. i cant get enough of that 1/4 mile thunder. and to list some of my favorit drivers john force for funny car , brandon bernstein for top fuel and scoot gefreon for pro stock. whats your favorite motorsport and drivers lets see what we get.
I voted drag racing because I do it. But I also like F1, Rolex (le mans) endurance racing, Trans Am (or just about anything SCCA), CASCAR, Champ Cars, Touring Cars, WRC etc. Though there's nothing quite like being next to two Top Fuel dragsters at the starting line.
i'd have to say nascar. nothing like spending 3 hours or so relaxing watching the race. just the noise and colors and the action. i used to follow drag racing but i've been out of it so long i dont know who's who anymore. is shirley still racing? i dont know.
welll, drag racing always was, but i havent lived near a track in a while. last race was at seattle on a sunday. very slow paced, only the final rounds. it sucked except for the wheelie king falling off his bike. i like moto-cross outdoor nationals, like at Washougal washington, hangtown, as well as local shmoes at local tracks. i also like the world motorcycle grand prix and auto F-1. i'd like to see a good night funny car race. last race i saw was ice speedway.
She recently retired-made the announcement at my local dragstrip (Cordova Dragway Park), much to the confusion of the press and officials at Indy (she was expected to announce her retirement at the finals at Indy).
I have always loved drag racing....have been to the Indy Nationals 3 times. Had a track here, but the slimeballs in the city council closed it. The cows didn't like the noise.
Lately, I have gotten more into watching Nascar. Very thrilling, but not something any normal "Joe" could afford.
i love goin to pomona for the winternationals. you get to see the new cars. the new drivers and alot of accidents because they have been off for a while. i think i got nitro in my veins
Well I'm an avid racing fanatic. I love NASCAR and have since I was around 7 years old, but I'm very much an active drag racer and have been for over twenty years. The racing season is here so bring on Daytona and Pomona and may Force get another.
My car is right at home on a nice 2+ mile long road course. So of course my vote goes to LeMans. Something cool about several classes on the track at the same time.
Well I like CART and Trans AM myself, really anything that has wheels. Every year my friend and I go to the Long Beach Grand Prix. What a blast, 3 days of high octane high rpm racing. We spent one day in the Trans Am pits. Heck we even helped push some of the cars around. We started talking with Paul Genolossi's brother Tony and he invited to stay and hang out. That was just too cool.
I do however hate the IRL. Tony George is the lowest form of life on the planet. I would not give them a dime of my money.
I have a buddy here where I work who's dad races a limited IHRA season, we've been invited to come hang out in thier pits too.
IMHO racing is truly the only real team sport now. Pro sports are so full of glory hogs and big dollor over paid people I don't watch them. BUT if one member of a race team or pit crew fails to do his job. The whole team looses
