Angry Your Take On This

I just had my 350 chevy motor rebuilt. All new cam and pistons the whole works. It has a stock 4 bbl carb rebuilt on it and is not running just yet. One is do u think this engine will purr and haul *** and 2 what can I do for cheap to add more horse power. I want to bet my buds VW GTI. Please help me kick some *** .

well, one thing that's a little too late now would have been to get a 400 crank cut to fit your 350 journal. then youve got an engine with a longer stroke--hence the term "stroker." The 350 goes to 383 stroker i THINK with a .030 over bore. someone feel free to correct me if i'm wrong on that. I am putting a 400 in my truck, and i think the 383 isn't much of a cut below. However, in the shoes you're in now, you could put some 305 heads on there, ported and polished with bigger intake/exhaust valves. That would be a start. On that 400, my heads are ported and polished w/2.02 intake valves and a cam. I fully expect to kick names and take butt.

umm i dunno what ur putting this motor in, buti woould think u would spank just about any VW with a stock 350 in jsut about anything (as long as its not like 1 million pounds)

What is this thing with the 305 heds on a 350? They raise the comp, sure, but the 305 was a smog motor... the heds dont breathe for crap.... L31 vortec heds are soo cheap, they are already assembled... fairly high comp...
