One of our competitors makes a similar gearset to one of ours, but they use a different tooth count that is cheaper and easier to produce. These gearsets run 'loose' and make a lot of noise, but work fine. They lose strength because of the vibration and heat buildup (wasted motion), but they're fine for street applications.
Moral of the story: It comes down to comfort...if you can deal with the noise, keep em, if not, my suggestion would be to source an OEM stock replacement in the ratio of your choice.

Thats going to be hard to do since I have been told that Ford has not made ring and pinions for the 9 inch for over 25 years. Do you sell or make gears?
