The "A" pillar and the front tire become one with the passenger .
That is scary. No structural integrity in the shell at all.
Sad thing is, it is only a matter of constructing the vehicle a little differently and not the material used.

They just aren't that smart yet.

The most disgusting car produced, they spew blue smoke and stink, with zero safety must be the East German Trabant affectionately known as the "Trabby".
I worked in Germany when the wall came down and these buggers turned up in droves on Saturday, clogging all of Wolfsburg.
The body is basically cloth, and in an accident there are no dents just splinters and the first parts to leave the car in a crash are the seats.
When they first came over they had no inkling of how fast West Germans drive
and potting along at slow speeds in the left lane on the autobahn got rear ended by Mercs etc., doing 200kmph.

After the reunification of east and west no one wanted Trabants and the company were all but begging clients to pick up their new cars.
During the DDR´s existence the waiting time for a new car was something like ten years or more.

Trabby production, sorry it´s in German but the vid shows the building of them.
