Building performance engines; restoring classic cars (with my son); We have three fully restored cars ... the 84 Buick, a 1966 Chrysler New Yorker and a 55 Chevy. An additional hobby is chasing total eclipses of the sun (18 viewed so far since 1963). The last eclipse chased and viewed was on November 14, 2012 in Australia.
Retired Automotive Research Engineer
I am a retired Senior Staff Research Engineer at General Motors Research Laboratories in Warren, Michigan. I retired from there in 2002 after 35 years. I specialized in fuel systems engineering, with many years in laser diagnostic measurements of fuel injection, laser-diffraction and phase-Doppler measurements, fuel atomization, mixing, combustion and emissions. I have a technical engineering book titled "Direct Injection Stratified Charge Gasoline Engines" that is available through SAE (The Society of Automotive Engineers). I have long been the Chairman of the SAE Technical Standards Committee on Gasoline Fuel Injection.
