Part 7: Bodyline
Jim Weimer

To shave the bodyline on my truck, I looked at different size rod stock until I found one that was small enough to fit into the bodyline. I tack welded the rod directly to the body and left my welds the way they lay.

I went over top of everything with chopped fiberglass filler and sanded everything smooth with 80 grit paper. Over top of the fiber strand I went with a standard filler and sanded as soon as possible with 80 grit, then moving onto 220 grit. On top of the standard filler I went with icing and sanded everything smooth with a long board and 400 grit until it was babyface smooth.

I sealed everything up with a catalyzed filler primer and blocked it down by hand with a rubber sanding block and 600 grit paper. I still need to go over everything again with a guide coat of black and block it down again to see where my high/low spots are.
