Part 3: Custom Hood Scoop

I made rear view mirrors out of '54 GM taillight pods and an air cleaner from a 30's Buick headlight pod.

I added a Pro-street scoop and smoothed out all the little "burps" that I found where bodylines didn't meet or fenders didn't flow as well. The Pro-street scoop was a suggestion/dare from a friend and I have loved it ever since! Some say you can't glass them to steel, but it has been on without a problem since '98. To do it I rolled a 2" lip up and fit the scoop snug over it. Then I fiberglassed it all around before slipping it back on. It looks good and is functional -- I've never overheated, even in fairground traffic. It acts as a vent at slow speeds to expel the heat.
