i have a 51 ford pick up and want to put a chry sub frame and suspension under it.i was told that hot rodders are using aspen,volare subframe and suspension.what i am looking for is some information on how it is done or some picture of what it look like.any help whould be great

Did this swap in my 48 F1. It's not that difficult. I bought a set of patterns for the frame cuts, did the cuts and welded in the whole thing over the course of two weekends. I don't have pics of the installation but can e mail you pics of the completed set up if you want them.

Let me suggest that the type of motor installation you want may have an impact on your decision since the motor mounts will come on the clip as will the steering box in most cases. So a Camaro clip will make a 350/350 set up pretty easy. Additionally, RB's Obsolete (see interntet)has a weld in sterring unit based on Mustang II parts. These are nice because there is a whole range of brakes available and motor mounts. The Chrysler give you torsion bar adjustment which is nice for the ride height. Hope this helps.
