I want to put 15" wheels and disc brakes (at least on the front) on my '66 Chevy Custom Camper. It currently has 16" split rims. Along with this, if it is reasonable, I might like to swap rears since mine seems to be a very low ratio. The pickup is a 283 with a 4 speed and is wound up prighty tight at highway speed. Getting the right ratio so that it is more drivable is a concern. If any one has any suggestions I would appreciate it. Thanks, Herb

i took the complete front-end out from under my 64 and put the one out from under a 73 with disk under mine think i just had to drill two holes,it's easy to do,73-79 will work.and on the rear-end i took the axles and third member out of a 78 chevy p.u. and put in the original rear end ,and classic chevy here in okla.city had an adapter kit to put power steering on it for $108.00. poor okie here

did basically the same thing as my Okie Buddy, put the entire cross member, etc. from a '73 Chevy PU under my '66...almost a complete bolt in swap..if I remember correctly, about 14 bolts to take loose and it'll swap over...also converted to power steering and brakes(got a mid-70's power steering box from another truck, had to do some adapting, but it's not brain surgery) and put in a 454/turbo350 while I was at it. Put a '78 trans am 3:23 posi in the rear...that was a trick making it work with the style rear end and coil spring set up it had...better to go the way The Okie says, lots easier and cheaper....
