Hey guys,
I'm planning on doing a Mustang I install on my truck.. starting with a Heidt's crossmember and working up. I can't bite the whole nut at one time for 1300-1500.. so I'm gonna put stock parts on it just to get it off jackstands and movable. trouble is I can't find any MII parts in the yards anywhere... don't want to invest in new stuff..saving my coins for the pretty tubular arms and such.. anyone got any stock upper and lower arms they can part with for a resonable price ?? or know of a good scrap yard source that won't rape me ?? tia john |

I believe you can also use Pinto parts/ control arms, spindles, rack and pinion etc.

o.k. guys... part II
I've had some help and located a front Mustang II clip within a days drive... it's complete...never wrecked and the price is $200.00. that sounds reasonable to me.. the spindles cost more than that.. question 1.. it had a 6 cyl in it but he has some later model Cobra springs. I know I need v-8 springs to hold up a 460... will these Cobra springs work ?? question 2.. it has a p.s. rack.. if it's in need can it be rebuilt and who would do it ?? thanks john |

They insert stainles steel sleeves at the spool valve and rack seals preventing the aluminum housing from being scored and intorducing metal fragments into the system. |

first, does your motor sit in same location as the one in the mii ? i mean,is it over top the crossmember or a little behind it ? if its behind by a few inches, a set of 6 cyl springs will give a better ride than the v8 springs.the heidts catalog did have a good info section on this subject. good luck & let us in on how you make out.

I'll keep you posted. I'll probably write an article to go on my web page about the swap from Volare front clip to Mustang II... who knows? might even be sell-able..
