Post Chevy S10 Chassis

I have a 1950 willys sedan delivery.I have been told that you can mount the body on a chevy s10 frame.I could use some input. I have measured the frame and it will fit. Also will the rearend take alot of torque.I am looking at installing a 350Chev with 400hp+....

Post re: Chevy S10 Chassis

I doubt any S-10 rear will hold up to 400 horsies for very long.

I did a '52 Suburban on a 4x4 S10 chassis, and my daily driver is a V8 S10 4x4. It wound up being a lot more work than I expected. Let me know if I can help you out any further.

Post re: Chevy S10 Chassis

hey rusty,

funny that you are talking about putting a willys body onto a s10 frame..... found an add in the street rod builder magazine that poked my interest. takiong a totaled s10 to a ground pounding willys. tried their web site... no luck not working. www.activepowerinc.com
here is their Phone # if you need it(or would like it) 440-392-9937 . if you get through(like it is a legit business)tell them their website ain't working. as for the 400 HP, i have to agree with Stinking. 300hp no problem, 400, you would be looking at a minimum Chevy 8.5 instead of the puny 7.5 it comes with. then again i have heard that you can pull the rear from a late model s10(suposed to be a 8.5) as long as it had the 4.3 v6. somewhere in the later 90's works best. hey might get lucky and find one with discs.

later, JS
