Will a 1979 Cadillac Seville front clip fit under a 1949 Chevy Deluxe frame? If so, how much work would be involved to attach it.

Also, as an alternative, how hard would it be to build a front clip?

There are kits available from RB's Automotive in Washington and other places to putthe MustangII/Pinto style front end under your car. This is the best tried and true front end for the novice builder.

I'm just starting a 47 chevy sedan delivery,I've been told the clip that is in it sometype of Caddy, it is way wide center of tire about 60 1/2 inches across,the outside of tires barely fit inside of wheel openings,going to cut it out put in a S-10 clip,track width about a 1 inch narrower than the mustang 2,nothing wrong with the mustang 2,if it hasn't yet been cut,by the time buy the crossmember and everything else at least $1000 on up.

I built my front clip. I used 2x4x.120 wall tubing for the frame rails and crossmember. Used 72 camaro spindles and brakes, 74 mustang power rack. bent all the A arms and set the whole thing up. used Aldan coil over shocks. It was quite time consuming but I figure I saved myself at least 1500 dollars. If you want me to scan a couple of pics and send them to you, email me.......GlennK

Thanks guys... Looking at the caddy clip again, I'm likely better off building the clip. I'll use the spindles, brakes steering and stuff though... Luckily the seville is equipped with four corner disc brakes!!
