I'm working on a '46 Chevy Panel truck and just put a Must II front end on it. The kit came from Heidt's thru JPL in PA. Anyway when I put the calipers on there was a nub in the casting that would not clear the mount so out came the grinder till they cleared. Its just in the middle between the mounting bolts and didn't fit into anything. The other thing is that I was short one of the lower shock mounting bolts. The one in the kit was a grade 8 but I could only find a grade 5 the same size for the other. I don't think either one of the problems will hurt anything but wanted to ask just the same. I want to do this right.

The nob your talking about, it won't hurt grinding it off. But the grade 8 bolt. Never go with a softer bolt on the frontend.
Remember safety frist. get another grade 8 bolt

I agree, all suspension bolts are always grade 8 for strength reasons...don't skimp-get the correct bolt with the right length shoulder.

You can always shorten the thread end.

Two things 1. Call Heidt's 800 number. 2. Tell them of your problems let them send you the bolt you paid about $8 for, and hopefully they will correct their over priced product. I'm not a Heidt's fan.
