Good work, zonk. I've wondered how an S-10 clip would work out, looks like it went in real nice. I'm still curious about the 4x4 clip, since the torsion bars and crossmember could cause problems.

FWIW, I'm using Zero Rust on my project as well. It's cheaper, doesn't have the bad stuff that POR-15 has (isocyanites?) and seems to be a quality product.

Whats so bad about the bad things in POR-15?

I'm no chemist but here's what I've been led to beleive.. Isocyanates (not isocyanItes, as previous post) can be absorbed into your bloodstream through your skin. So just a mask isn't going to be enough protection. Brushing generally produces less airborne material, so it's generally safer than spraying.
Not to make this out to be some kind of mystery poison, it's also found in base/clear painting systems (among other things). The difference is, those systems are usually applied in a paint booth with all the associated respirator gear. My big reason for going with ZR was that it was comparable in quality, safer AND cheaper. That said, I'm sure there are thousands of people who use POR-15 without any problems. Safety directions are included with both products for a reason. |

I also use zero rust and like the results, I painted a semi rusted boat trailer and use it in salt water three years now and no need to repaint yet.
