if I remember right the 65 is a front steer truck, if so any chevy trk. up to 1980 will bolt on just pump mounts are a problem, so try to find a trk with all the parts you need as a unit. Good Luck. JF

front steer means that the steering is done in FRONT of the wheel, as apposed to the rear of the front tires. You will need ALL but center link and tie rod ends. Good Luck. JF

dude i have searched high and low for a kit or instructions for p/s for my truck and no one makes one or has any instructions on what exactly to do. i don't know why, you would think there would be a market for them.
sorry i don't have any pics, i am not to good with this computer thing, but it looks just like yours and all mechanicly perfect with 350/350 bored .060 over, and the usual- headers, rpm intake, 650 carb, hei dist., sure flow k&n, 3in pipes into flows, 2500 stall, and street/strip shift kit. nothing special, just the basics. |

When no kits or instructions are readily available on the internet, the conversion is either not common or easily accomplished using factory parts -- as is most likely the case in your situation (factory parts bolt right on).

I would call napa and ask about a PS Pump for a 65 chevy PU ... If its available then i would assume you would be able to buy most of the parts needed ...

nope, still have to do all of that stuff when the money situation says i can.
i have checked all of the autoparts stores and no one had a p/s box, which leads me to think that the 65 pu didn't come with p/s. but i guess i need to further my investigation. www.aaronkmorse@hotmail.com |

Classic performance products has a bolt on kit for power steering. I also have a 65 GMC shortbox fleetside that is in the process of a frame up resto. No chevy did not have p/s in 65. I believe p/s came out in 68 on chevy vehicles.
