Post 1955 ford disc brakes?

Does anyone know of an easy (inexpensive) conversion to discs on a '55 ford fairlane. The archives are full of info for GM and Mustang, but I can find no reference to this model. Please help!

Try Master Power Brakes (www.mpbrakes.com) for a bolt on front brakes setup. Speedway (www.speedwaymotors.com) might have something for the front, definitely have universal rear disc kits at a reasonable price (under $300). 12" discs may be hard to find, but 11" are common.

Disk brakes for '55 ford

I bought a conversion kit for my '53 Ford from Engineered Components, Inc P.O. Box 2361 Vernon CT 06066 but I don't know if they're still in business or if they offer ones for the '55.
They were relatively easy to install, and the people at ECI were very knowledgable and helpful. Good Luck!

re: 1955 ford disc brakes?

The simplest approach is to use GRANADA/MONARCH (75/80) front 11" discs. -Fatman Fabrications- offers reworked spindles (60.00 exch) for the early FORD ball joints and -Currie Enterprises- offers rear adaptors for a 9" rear housing to fit MARK VII rear disc.
