disc brake conversion kit compatibility
Can anybody tell me if there will be problems using a 2"drop manual disc brake kit (front) for a 67-69 Camaro and put it on a 1970 Chevelle?
The seller of this kit said he had talked to the manufacturer(and they were'nt very convincing) that there might be a problem with the steering connection. I checked other web sites listing on conversion kits and I believe it is compatible. Is there anything that I should be aware of that would be a problem? |

re: disc brake conversion kit compatibility
The only difference in the stock 69 Camaro & 70 Chevelle steering system is the steering arms that mount to the spindle. The stock spindles are the same, but the arms are different. The Chevelle arms extend to the front, while the Camaro arms go to the rear. There might be some reason why the Chevelle arms won't mount to the aftermarket spindle. They mount to the stock spindle using the same holes, but the aftermarket one may have something that interferes with a Chevelle arm. Or they may be one-piece units like the later stock stuff.
